Power of perception (Trust)

Case 1:
X drops wallet, Y picked up wallet and want to call out to X, and before that happens, X realise wallet has dropped, turned around saw Y with wallet. X went up accusing that Y stole his wallet.
*Y wanted to pick up wallet to return to X, but in the end was accused of stealing. If you were Y, what would you do?*

Case 2:
Brother wanted to chop chicken to make soup for sister, sharpening knife. Sister heard sound of knife sharpening, thought brother wanted to kill her.

*A sad case indeed. Not a slightest pinch of trust in this. If possible I would advise sister to move out. Why live together and fear for your life when there is no trust even in siblings?*

=======================================

Trust is an important determinant in one’s perception.

Many times, in a relationship, be it family friends colleagues or even lovers, when there is no trust between individuals, the perception of one single action, even with a kind intention, will turn out to be something evil. People who do not trust others will often live in fear and insecurity. Its pretty normal as you are always in defense mode, high alert in every second in your life, so afraid that others will hurt you in one way or another.

Trust, eliminates fears.

If you fall and trust that someone will catch you no matter what, you will fall in ease, no matter how high it is.

On the contrary, if there is lack of trust, even a 1-meter height you will never attempt to jump down. You do not trust those who will catch hold of you, nor you do not trust yourself that you can land safely.

When there is no trust, everything around you will be distorted due to fear, misjudgements occurs and all things will become unfavorable to you. We can recap that in my previous post http://badguyk.wordpress.com/2007/11/20/power-of-perception/:

truth ≡ what you believe in ≡ perception

If you have faith and trust something or someone, your perception of things will be more or less positive, compared to the lack of trust. Hence things will react positively due to the positive force you are emitting. As such all will go well for what you wanted.

Lack of trust → distorted perception of things → conflict creation

Sadly, trust is not easily achievable. I have yet to find a simple way to let others trust you. I guess this is one of the subjects that can be never explained in words and theories. For some, no matter how many hurtful things he has done, the other party will surprisingly trust him. For others, one small thing like forget to inform about being late or whatever, it will be blown up to a big fuss. It is all unexplainable. Controlled by emotions and not logic.

It is impossible to trust everyone, but if we stay neutral, gives the benefits of doubt and keeps an open mind, many conflicts and misunderstandings can be avoided. And no, trust does not mean to race for who possess more nukes.
